24 april 2026: The animal feed sector is becoming increasingly European
By 2025, nearly 98% of imported feed soya came from European crops. The sector is thus almost entirely independent of overseas supply chains. Maize gluten, 90% of which still came from China four years ago, now comes from Europe.
29 April 2025: Feed imports are becoming increasingly sustainable
Switzerland imports its animal feed responsibly. In 2024, 92.5 % of soya feed imports came from Europe - with Italy as the main supplier - and 97.8 % were sustainably certified. This development shows that Swiss importers and agriculture take their responsibility for the environment and animal husbandry seriously.

Encouraging current figures and developments were presented at the general meeting of the Soya Network at the border triangle in Basel. Feed soya used in Switzerland is 100% deforestation-free and comes almost entirely from European cultivation.
April 21, 2023, Fodder soy with greatly improved ecological footprint
As current calculations show, the annual GHG emissions resulting from the cultivation and transport of feed soy have been gradually reduced by 85% since the base year 2004 until today. This reduction is another milestone in the commitment of the Soy Network Switzerland.
